VFX Vlog #10 - Your After Effects Skill Level & Adding City Night Lights

VFX Vlog #10 - Your After Effects Skill Level & Adding City Night Lights

In order to choose the best tutorials to advance your After Effects skills, it is important to know where your skill level is at. I have been using difficulty meters in my recent tutorials and I will quickly discuss what they mean and how to get the most out of them.

Test your After Effects skill and see whether you fall into the Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced category by answering some questions on my website:

In the second part of the Vlog I cover something that I left out of my recent Fireworks Compositing tutorial due to time reasons. I converted the scene from a day scene to look like it was filmed at night. You can check out a very simple Day For Night conversion tutorial right here:

And this is my Fireworks Compositing tutorial:

In my Fireworks Compositing tutorial I did convert one of the shots to appear as if it was filmed at night, but I did not show you how I actually added all of the lights into the buildings in the background of the scene. Adding these lights adds SO much to making it feel like a night shot and in the second part of this Vlog I will show you exactly how I did that.
