Learn how to make objects glow in Adobe After Effects! In this tutorial I show you how to apply the Glow effect to static as well as moving elements in your scene.
To apply the Glow effect to static elements:
- Separate the element from your footage (using masks)
- Apply the Glow effect and tweak as required
To apply the Glow effect to moving elements:
- Separate the moving elements from your layer (this can be tricky, I like to use the Roto Brush tool for this, but you can also use animated masks)
- Apply the glow effect and tweak as required
The most important thing when adding large scale glow effects in Adobe After Effects is to set your composition to use full 32 bit per channel colour or the glow effect might not work as you’d expect it to.
