Building the Ultimate Motorsport Engine
The idea for the new titles for the weekly TV show Motorsport Mundial – which celebrated its 3,000th international program in 2011 and is currently broadcast in more than 160 countries worldwide – was to create a brand that feels like a Motorsport team. But not just any motorsport team.
“I wanted the titles to portray ‘The Ultimate Team,’ not about one particular area of motorsport, but a team full of Formula 1, Rally, Motocross, Superbikes and Powerboats,” said Luke Pointon, Designer at the UK-based television production company Greenlight Television.
Using MAXON’s 3D animation software CINEMA 4D, Luke set about creating an animation showing robots building the ultimate racing engine. During the construction, screens show races from around the world, which are then downloaded onto the engine’s on-board computer.
