What's in a Logo?
The new idents on Discovery Channel UK feature clips from shows such as ‘Mythbusters’ that play directly within the globe of Discovery’s shortened ‘Globe + D’ logo.
Created by London-based Double G Studios – http://doublegstudios.com – the award-winning idents for the non-fiction network were made using the popular motion graphics combination of software CINEMA 4D plus Adobe After Effects.
“We used CINEMA 4D’s integration with After Effects to export the 3D data from CINEMA 4D so that Discovery could replace the clips that play in the globe directly in After Effects without having to go back into CINEMA 4D and do a full 3D render. New versions of the idents can be generated in a fraction of the time it would take for a full-blown 3D render,” said Grant Gilbert, Creative Director and owner of Double G Studios.
